Updated: Dec 10, 2020

UN SDG #16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions

To me, peace means peace for everyone. Justice means justice for everyone. Strong institutions aid in making these happen.

ESD Global Inc. partners with many organizations that create change and help prevent violence.

One prime example, Every Woman, is "...a diverse coalition of more than 1,700 women’s rights advocates, including 840 organizations, in 128 countries working for a safer world for women and girls worldwide."

Learning to defend yourself isn’t learning to be violent. It isn’t antithetical to peace.

In my mind, it is actually the polar opposite. By learning to communicate and assert ourselves in a healthy way - using tools for de-escalation of conflict, tools for setting boundaries, tools for getting home safely - we create communities and strong institutions that foster both peace and justice.
