Six Inappropriate Behaviors Recently Seen on TV and Tips for Handling
Updated: Oct 6, 2020

When we talk about recognizing red flag behavior in Empowerment Self Defense classes, these six are almost always in the top ten:
Snarky Disrespectful Tone of Voice
Non-stop Barrage of Interruptions
Constant Changing of Topic to Push Agenda
Flinging Personal Insults
Attempting to Humiliate
Poking at Past Pains and Loss
What is red flag behavior? Well, it refers to patterns of behavior that are meant to belittle, control and/or hurt a person. They are part of a system of control and abuse that is meant to instill doubt in the victim as to their personal worth and capabilities.
Honestly, IMHO, these behaviors are no different than pollution. Instead of polluting our physical environments like air and rivers, they pollute our emotional environments.

Over the next six days, my posts will be about how to filter out the emotional pollution of abusive speech.
